Breakaway Boxers began with the purchase of my first boxer, Ch. Ivylane’s Late Arrival, aka Abby.  Abby was born in 2002 and was considered the “ugly duckling” of the litter.  I bought her as a breedable pet, but kept in touch with her co-owner/breeder, Tina Starr.  When Abby was 6 months old, I brought her down to visit Tina and she was amazed at how she turned out; Abby’s show career began.  A year or so later, Abby was a champion!  In 2005, Abby was bred to the beautiful Casey (aka Ch. Halcyon’s I Rest My Case) and she delivered 8 healthy pups.  In 2006, she was bred to the beautiful Rusty (aka Lemko’s Sunburst) and delivered 4 pups.  We kept a beautiful female from that litter and named her Moxie.

I breed for health, longevity, temperament first and foremost.  I believe that a raw fed diet is the healthiest food for a dog and so I feed Oma’s Pride raw dog food.  I advise potential puppy owners to research this diet and to feed it if at all possible.
